Which seems to be cursed this millenium. Last year there was that terrible earquake in Bam, and this year there’s a horrible tsunami taking out so much of the Indian Ocean coasts. And both countries without the infrastructure to really deal with it.

I’m just flew into San Francisco, not for any silly MVP status, just to visit family. I’ll be here for 9 days, so light blogging in the meantime. Try to cope.

This comment was left on Slashdot:

“Tsunamis travel at about 950 km/h, that’s about the speed of a high altitude jetliner!”

I was just on a jetliner, at fairly high altitude. That means a whole big wall of water can get from Seattle to San Francisco in 2 hours. Amazing.

Drudge, btw, has done a really great job covering this, as have all the blogs. Good work, people.

Meanwhile, the Ukraine has voted (again) and the people have spoken (again) and the good guys have won (again). So let’s give ‘em three cheers for resilience.
