Pell Grants
Guess what the first article in Google News is for this subject? Why yes, U.S. to trim education grants to low-income college students by Greg Winter for The New York Times, country of origin is listed as France.
Nothing to do with anything, just funny.
Anyway,
“Season’s greetings from Uncle Sam,” said Terry Hartle, senior vice president of the American Council of Education, which conducted one of the analyses and represents about 1,800 colleges and universities.
Okay, I went to Catholic College Prep High School in Mountain View, California, and everybody got grant money. Either they got loans from the colleges, Pell Grant money, money from private organizations, Pepsi company, government loans. If you showed me a kid that paid full price for college, I’d show you a kid with a trust fund, a legacy at Stanford, and an 750 on his SATs. Maybe with a cocaine problem. Or something.
My point is, everyone gets money. It’s just guaranteed. The conversations aren’t “Wow, you qualified for grant money?” It’s “Where’d you get your grant money from?”
So if they cut grant money, maybe these rich white kids will actually pay for college themselves. And then maybe the Ivy Leagues will stop charging $30,000 for a year at Yale, when you get what, four and a half years of Socialist indoctrination and undiluted designer drugs?
