Hrmmm Thar
From Instapundit, A Very Special Effect
Looking at the latest pictures of pre-election violence in Iraq, this little gem fairly leapt out at me. Look at the pictures carefully, then read the analysis below.
Look at them, do, then read the analysis below.
You know what it reminds me of?
Those pictures taking during the Battle of Fallujah of the masked insurgents strutting manly up and down the streets in broad daylight with the sort of captions that read “brave minuteman points his rocket-propelled grenade at cowardly American troops hiding in tanks during the invasion of a peaceful Fallujah”.
There was one picture in particular, I thought on LGF or PowerLine, but I looked through all their archives of the time, and alas… Anyway, this picture of a couple terrorists in the middle of the street with the things on their shoulders, and another guy was perhaps throwing a grenade, and the person to whom the blog belonged commented that if they were behaving that way in broad daylight, there was little chance the Marines were anywhere nearby, in which case the Al Reuters photographer were letting them stage a total lie of a picture for the sake of that ever-ellusive Pulitzer.
