Ding Ding Ding!
A very enthusiastic congratulations to Arthur Chrenkoff for his First Blogiversary!
It’s hard to believe that I’ve only been reading him for six months, and when I started he was only six months old! And he was in full gear with his Good News from Afghanistans and Iraq, he was published regularly in the Opinion Journal, he had a blogroll as long as my arm, and the traffic of a mighty warlord!
I’ve thought about this for a while, and I think I would have to say that he’s my absolute favourite blog. I know there are others that keep winning awards, like Power Line and Little Green Footballs, who may be, technically, better blogs (post more often, have more readers, write more penetratingly on a variety of subjects, or whatever), but Chrenkoff’s my favourite, because whatever he writes is worth reading. Sometimes my eyes glaze over on the other ones, and I just nod and smile and take their word for it, because maybe it’s just a bit to penetrating of an issue I’m maybe not really that into. But Chrenkoff’s blog is the one that I’d take on my desert island. He’s always got a sense of humour, he never rambles, he never rants, he never insults, and when he says anything firmly, you know it’s because he truly believes it passionately.
Plus, he’s practically infallible on the subjects of Afghanistan, Iraq, the Boxing Day Tsunami, the Islamic World, Eastern Europe, Communism, politics of a variety of nations, and movies, to name just a few things.
