Okay, no one is saying that the Theory of Evolution is a fact, because it’s a big and complicated mess, and there’s a bunch we don’t know (yet!). But the theory, in all its messy glory, is true. There are bits that are missing, and bits that may be, in their own small way, wrong, but the big picture isn’t.

And saying you don’t believe in it (was that A or B?) nor the other one kind of lets you off the hook, doesn’t it? I mean, that’s great, I don’t think you’re a paleontology prof, so it doesn’t really matter what you believe, but a student has to learn one or the other and the evolution one’s the better one for learning, and if he says “Oh I don’t believe either” then he’s not going to do a very good job of learning, because he’ll feel like it’s a bunch of bull-plop and why should he bother?
