According to Salary.com (via Newsweek), a stay-at-home mom is worth a bundle:

Stay-at-home mothers wear many hats. They’re the family CEO, the day care provider, accountant, chauffeur, counselor, chef, nurse, laundress, entertainer, personal stylist, and educator. Based on a 100-hour work week, Salary.com has estimated that a fair wage for the typical stay-at-home mom would be $131,471 for executing all of her daily tasks.

I agree. The only trouble is I’ll have to get a second job to pay Kris what she is worth (the international anti-global warming conspiracy doesn’t pay very well).

When my aunt (mother of five boys) was put out of commission for close to a year by some moron cutting in front of her on an icy highway, when the lawyer and them discussed compensation in the lawsuit, he told her he didn’t think he’d get very much out of the guy because she didn’t work. But! If she had a job “At someplace like Wall-mart” then she’d have a lost income they could ask for.

Never mind the amount of money they spent on babysitters, who of course still didn’t fulfill her regular duties as a mother. She was pretty cheesed off by this guy, let me tell you.
