Meme Me, Baby.
So I made fun of Bubblehead and now I’ve been passed this movie meme. Teach me to be smart-mouthed!
Number of films I own on DVD/Video: Um, Peter and me combined? About 120, plus some TV series (Simpsons, Family Guy
, Futurama
, Doctor Who
). I myself have about two big banker boxes of VHS’s but they’re at home, cuz, well, we have a VCR on the shelf, alas it is not plugged in.
The last film I bought: Uh, Peter bought, and that would be Zoolander and The Birdcage
. It should have been The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou
, but Circuit City just makes us so freaking angry, so we left in a huff.
The last film I watched: A Shot In the Dark. Unless you count the first half of The Scold’s Bridle
, a mystery I just watched on BBC America. But I guess that’s more a miniseries.
Five films that I watch a lot or that mean a lot to me (in no particular order): (Yes it is, it’s in alphabetical order) Uh, an ever-shifting list, but these days I’d have to say:
- Amelie
- Gosford Park
- Mansfield Park
- Pride and Prejudice
(which I don’t actually own, but my birthday’s in August!)
- Snatch
- And because Pride and Prejudice
is technically a miniseries than, uh, The Englishman Who Went up a Hill But Came Down A Mountain
, any of The Lord of the Rings
, either of the two Bournes
, The Philadelphia Story
, Love Actually
, and if Circuit City wasn’t so freaking stupid, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou
.
Yes I’m very needy.
And now I’m penitent.
Update (6.1):
I forgot to pass it on. Well, in my own tradition, I choose George HW Bush, Arnold Schwatzenegger, and Junichiro Koizumi.

A very nice list, Ninme… much classier than mine (with nary a “floating poop” sight gag in any of your choices…).
