There is something wrong with the stupid test. I get the Italian army?
August 29th, 2006 at 4:12 pm
Oh obviously! What’s it say?
Meanwhile, there’s something wrong with my text. Damn…
(Update)
Ah, Peter. He’s so useful.

I had a tie between UK/Commonwealth and the US (both at 94%) but my tiebreaker made it give me UK/Commonwealth.

It says: “Your army is the Italian army. You love your country but you’re actually not much into the war your leaders want you to join in. Take it easy mate, you can always wait for the twists of fortune and eventually join the side that is winning in the conflict.”
But will I be able to look in the mirror the next day?
August 30th, 2006 at 1:59 am
Well, it never stopped the bloody French looking in the mirror. They just decided they’d liberated themselves without any help from anyone else. This explains why they’re so resentful of the British, US and Canadians - having their armies wandering around northern France confused some people into thinking they’d had something to do with la Liberation.

Red, you really have a way with people. Now I get compared to the French. Right, kick a man when he´s down.

“Just surrender and eat your cheese! You can start collaborating next week.”
Sorry for any offence, wf! At least the Italian army did some actual fighting, even if their kit was useless, whereas the French just downed toold the moment they saw a Panzer in the middle-distance.

Hehehe
Good! Glad to see everyone’s making friends!

Finland.
? Declared War on the US but the US didn’t return the favor….
August 30th, 2006 at 11:48 am
To be fair, some French units did put up a fight and suffered heavy casualties in 1940, close to a hundred thousand killed, I believe. Alas, the nation proved unworthy of their sacrifice.
August 30th, 2006 at 12:25 pm
Did they really? Finland declaring war, I mean. They always seemed like such a …well, nice little country, tucked away up there, off on their own where no one pays them much mind.
August 30th, 2006 at 2:20 pm
They may have been the inspiration for The Mouse that Roared, the Peter Sellers movie. A classic!
August 30th, 2006 at 2:31 pm
Roosevelt understood that the Helsinki government had no choice between the Nazis and the Red Army. It was only months earlier that the US was hurriedly shiping Curtis Hawks to Finland to fight against the Red AF.
Legend has it that the Fins sneered at the quality of the German troops sent to fight with them.
August 30th, 2006 at 3:04 pm
Wait what about the legendary ski troops? Weren’t they Finns? They’ve kind of disappeared lately, but when I was wee it seems they were everywhere, in movies ‘n books ‘n stuff.
August 31st, 2006 at 1:41 am
“they were everywhere” Particularly if one was in the Red Army caught up in the Mannerheim Line. They were the last thing one thought one’d seen just before one, together with the rest of one’s brigade, froze to death.
August 31st, 2006 at 9:15 am
Oh right so they were on our side?
August 31st, 2006 at 9:58 am
After finally giving way before the Red Army the Fins allied themselves with Nazi Germany for protection. Allowed Wehrmacht troops in the country and aided the assault on Lenningrad. So no they weren’t on ourside, it was a strange situation, they wuz at war with us, but we weren’t at war with them.
August 31st, 2006 at 10:23 am
So, they were at war with the Red Army, on behalf of the Germans, so right I get it now.
But we’re all cool wit dat, yeah?
September 1st, 2006 at 1:46 am
“they wuz at war with us, but we weren’t at war with them”.
Ah, is that what they call asymmetrical warfare?
September 1st, 2006 at 5:36 am
Yeah, now that you mention it…
September 1st, 2006 at 9:43 am
Sounds like the nineties. At least the Finns weren’t quite so persistent.
