Is there a sort of Inspector Morse Appreciation Society out there, that keeps track of the music featured on the show? Or, is there a classical music enthusiast among (amongst?) you that wants to run out and rent Who Killed Harry Field

Dunno about the individual piece you mean, but the Morse music was written by an Oz bloke called Barrington Pheloung who’s done a ton of stuff, most of it pretty good as I recall.
If you think Barrington’s a strange name, one of the earliest Oz cultural icons in GB was a cartoon character in “Private Eye” called Barrington Bradman Bing McKenzie. Barry for short.

Yeah I know and the morse in it spells out M-O-R-S-E. I meant the classical piece.
