BBC - Food festival has peace on menu
One of the world’s most famous food festivals is celebrating its 10th anniversary by trying to promote not only good taste, but peace.
The Salone del Gusto - the Exhibition of Taste - is the showcase of the Slow Food movement, which was founded to counter the spread of fast food.
Why not me?! Oh right, cuz I’m poor and can’t afford the airfare.
But it will also see Palestinian and Israeli chefs creating a joint feast.
I’m sure the Palestinians will hear about this and suddenly realize that the Jews aren’t occupying inhuman pigs after all.

Slow Food. An idea whose time has come. Be here in about umm…., soon, it’ll be worth it tho.
Slowest food ever: Number 2 son in his Chef phase making some weird Germanish cabbage, ham, strudel thingy, from scratch. 4 hours just making the pasta.

Mmmm.
You know what’s faster than pasta and even better with cabbage? SpƤtzle!
I’m very slow food but I don’t go into slow food. It’s why I don’t make a lot of European stuff. Europeans have always had lots of trees (fuel) per capita so they tend to boil things, then fry things, then put them in the oven to finish it off, all while preparing and re-preparing in the meantime. Asian food, though, they had lots of people and not so many trees, so they tend to just chop everything up before hand, heat the wok and blammo, you’re done.
