My Favourite Time of Year: Hypocrites On Parade
It’s a measure of how much I appreciate a good joke that this doesn’t upset me:
BBC - Bush serves up the jokes at meal
“A year ago my approval rating was in the 30s, my nominee for the Supreme Court had just withdrawn, and my vice-president had shot someone.
“Ah, those were the good ol’ days…”
Mr Bush began his speech at the Radio and Television Correspondents’ Association dinner in Washington by thanking the association for providing the food and “Senator Webb for providing security”.
Billiant. I really do love this time of year. I think I’ll spend a few minutes shuffling through YouTube later.

The Prez has class, you have to give him that. I would love to have seen the look on Sen. Webb’s face when he heard that. I may do him a disservice, but I don’t picture him as the laugh at yourself type.
