Well, yeah, but it’s still fun to watch. A bit hard to watch though when it’s ever-more-rapidly approaching and they haven’t done anything but plow up a historically important community garden for a footpath the architect himself says is unimportant and nearly build a mega-mosque to loom in all the wide shots.
Of course, even with pros competing, the men’s basketball team still got its ass kicked last time, so hey.

The actual sports are fun to watch. The bathetic athlete bios (competing without an arm! a leg! his beloved mother! in spite of frenzy over alleged doping! having been force fed spinach as a tot! even though we’ve set her up to win an unprecedented 15 gold medals and will make her feel like a failure if she doesn’t!) our media favor in lieu of actual coverage: ennh.

The USA is still Olympic champion at rugby. They won it in 1920 and it has featured at the games since.

A TiVo is indispensable during the Olympics. Unfortunately, ours is in the process of being emptied and retired.
