T’anks Givin’ Eve
If you want to know how I’ve squandered my morning, click on the Tweet in the sidebar and check out the twitter. Meanwhile, I gotta get to Uwajimaya, Pikes Market, and a liquor store before lunch.
See, before I made the biggest mistake of my life so far by upgrading to Moveable Type 4.01, if I accidentally selected all the comments, rather than just the one at the top, I’d notice because everything would be highlighted. Now it takes so long for their stupid heavy-ass slow-ass code to kick in that all I see is just one checked check-box, and only when I’ve hit the “spam” button do they suddenly become highlighted. That’s how slow the delay time is. But even if I managed to somehow select all, not notice I’d selected all, and still hit “spam” accidentally, all I’d have to do is go to the “spam” folder, select all again, and hit “publish”. Then they’d all be published, all approved. But now the batch “publish” doesn’t mean “approved”. So even though they’re all “published”, they’re only in the “published comments” folder. Not in the Non-Spam folder. So even though they’ve been published, you click on an individual comment, which is the only place where it says this, btw, and it says “Reported as Spam.” So yes, even though you’ve published it by hand, it still thinks it’s spam. Published spam, but still spam. There’s no batch “approve”, just a batch “publish”. Even if it’s published, it still thinks it’s spam. So I have to go through each and every freaking comment, opening a whole sh.tload of them in tabs, approve them, save changes, wait for them to load, close them, open a bunch of others, repeat, avoid the stupid “Reply” button which only pops up under the mouse when you roll over it, lying in wait, hiding, hoping you’ll click on it, which opens one of these little windows that darkens the rest of the screen so you can’t get to it, and spins, and spins, and spins, and then finally crashes Safari so you completely lose your place.
It’s a teensy bit aggravating.
So, I’ve gots stuffs to do. Blogging to get fired up this afternoon, between assembling, prepping, rolling, etc.
