It’s the English national dish and if I ever get the chance, Brett, I’ll buy a plateful from Perns of Helmsley in Yorkshire - it’ll make you realise why some folks stayed in Yorkshire instead of getting themselves transported.
More seriously, the revival of the traditional English banger has been one of the great unsung successes of recent years - sausages are far better now than they were when I was a kid. Though that’s a long time ago, as Mrs Red will remind me tomorrow when she gives me a card.
I’ll bet Yes Minister had something to do with the revival of the British Sausage. The South African variants are good, too, especially when topped with Mrs Balls chutney.
