Finally! A presidential candidate who publicly recognizes Philip Roth’s pretentious drivel for what it is. I’ve never felt closer to or more supportive of the McCain campaign.
Maybe if this whole presidential aspirations thing doesn’t work out for him, he can start a book club.

Throw in Saul Bellow and you’re talking about a great American hero.
Quite liked some bits of Bernard Malamud, and John Barth once wrote a book that was both short and funny. A long time ago, mind you.
